What Should I Feed My KidsAudio Bites IconLISTEN TO INTERVIEW

This is the first of a new column called Audio Bites. Audio Bites will feature tasty morsels from conversations about food.

This first Audio Bite features excerpts from a conversation with Ronni Litz Julien. She is a nutritionist, author, ABC/WPLG nutrition correspondent, and mother of two children. All of these job experiences led her to write her most recent book, What Should I Feed My Kids? How to Keep Your Children Healthy by Teaching Them to Eat Right. In twenty years, Julien’s client base has shifted from mostly adults to mostly children. So she decided to write a book that transcends nutrition guidelines and gives parents real-life tips. I spoke with Julien about these and other meaty issues here.

You can hear more of Julien’s tips at this weekend’s Miami Book Fair International. She will be part of the “Healthy Eats” panel this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in Room 3315. The Book Fair takes place the Miami Dade College Wolfson campus downtown.

Julien is an activist for eliminating trans fat from our diets and our restaurants. In a future Audio Bites feature, I talk to Julien about the new enemy number one.

Great interview… very interesting. Almost like the kind of thing you’d hear on NPR. I’m definitely going to check out the book and see if I can get some tips for my own kids!
