In Guatemala…

Guatemala Map

I’m learning new words like pepian and pepitoria here in Guatemala, where we are visiting my husband’s family.

Today we visited the Filadelfia coffee farm near Antigua, which is one of my favorite food cities right now. Yesterday, we took a cooking class to learn how to make traditional foods like chiles rellenos and platanos en mole. I will return home bearing much coffee and chocolate. More soon…

we must have crossed paths! we went to the filadelfia coffee plantation too, wasn’t it great? Brought home many bags of coffee and a new appreciation for what goes into making an excellent cuppa jo. Wish I’d had time to take a cooking class….. gs

Let’s split the difference; it’s actually medium roast. According to Eugene Karagodin, the GM at the Houston branch of R. Dalton Coffee (the brand made at Filadelfia), “All our coffees are medium roast, as this type of roast preserves the
natural oils and their medicinal qualities in the beans.” I brought home the Genuine Antigua kind.
