Man on the Street is a Miami Dish column about finding a lunch that scrimps on cash but not on taste. However, I haven’t been able to keep up Man in the Street since I started it, so I need your help! I am extending the contest through October, since the 24,24, 24 Farm-to-Table dinner consumed Miami Dish for a while and I did not post as many reminders as I would have liked.
Please submit your brief description ( a few sentences/a paragraph) of why your lunch place should be known to all!
Where is it?
What are your favorite dishes and about how much do they cost?
How much does a full meal cost?
Pictures are not required, but they are definitely encouraged. Send your submissions to email@example.com. If you’re shy about using your full name, it’s okay to use your first name or a pseudonym.
The winner will get prizes and glory! The prize part is a generous free Wok Star class courtesy of Eleanor Hoh. If you aren’t familiar with her classes, check out my post or her website. Here is a description:
Wok Star Cooking Class Gift Certificate ($65)
A perfect combination of socializing, entertaining and learning
Join Wok Star, Eleanor Hoh for an unforgettable class and learn 4 dishes with her no-recipe technique. Her focus is simple, quick, healthy, “easy style”, weekday, 30-minute one-dish meals with little clean-up.
You’ll get tons of tips and information on ingredients and where to pick them up in Asian markets. She’ll bust some myths about wok cooking like “just throw it all in the wok.” You’ll soon be able to make dinners with the whole family and enjoy eating together, using only a few fresh ingredients that will entice even the pickiest eaters to an exotic and scrumptious dinner. Plus, you’ll save money and gas when you enjoy your home-cooked creations. You can now create those favorite Asian meals in your own home and it’s easier than you think.
The glory will be getting your post up on the blog.
The contest ends October 31, 2008 at 11:59 pm. The winner will be announced the next day and their post will be up soon after. Unlike the last contest, this one is completely subjective! May the best woman or man win!
