My,  Lunch Week sure is long!  I suppose when you write your own blog you can take some liberties…

FIU Hospitality School reopened its dining room last week.  On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, student chefs prepare a three course meal for the public.  The meal includes appetizer, choice of main course, dessert, wine and coffee or tea for $18.  You can make reservations for lunch at 305-919-4500.  The dining room will be open through December 4.

You can read about my experience at the FIU Dining Room here.

The students have already designed their fall menus by country.  However, as all chefs do, they may vary the menus depending on the vagaries of kitchen life.

Here is the Provence-themed menu for Friday, September 25:

Provence

Pain De Campagne

Winter White Salad

Duck breast with orange gastrique

Baked red snapper Provencal

Chocolate Pots De Crème

The menu for Tuesday, September 29 will be Italian:

Southern Italy

Italian Bread

Minestrone Soup

Shrimp Penne with olive oil, garlic, asparagus and tomatoes

Stuffed Chicken with spinach and ricotta with saffron sauce

Cappuccino Ice cream with orange biscotti

When: Lunch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through December 4.  Call 305-919-4500 for reservations and menu information.
